Authorized users with valid login credentials can also edit the configurations of the device.
Note: Changing configurations might lead to the device behaving in an undesirable way. Use this functionality only when you are sure of what you are doing. Otherwise, contact Vecmocon.
To edit the configurations of a device, you need to first enter the ‘Edit configuration’ mode. To do that, follow the steps below.
- Go to the ‘Configurations’ page.
- Fetch the latest values by clicking on the ‘Fetch’ button.
- Click on the ‘Edit configurations’ button.
- Authorize yourself using your Email and PIN.
- Once authorized, the app will prompt you to confirm to enter the ‘Edit configuration’ mode.
- Click ‘Proceed’ to enter the ‘Edit configuration’ mode.
Once you enter the ‘Edit Configuration’ mode, you can use three major methods to edit the configurations of a device. These are,
- Manual
- Selecting a preset
- Uploading a file.
Each of these methods is explained in detail below.
Method 1: Manual
In this method, you have to enter the values of each parameter manually. To edit the configuration of a device manually, follow the steps below.
- Enter the ‘Edit configuration’ mode.
- Enter the new value of the configuration parameter you want to update within the allowed ranges. Parameters with no new value will not be updated.
- Click on the ‘Review’ button.
- If you are OK with the changes, you can click on the ‘Apply configurations’ button.
- The app will show the status of each parameter.
- If a parameter failed to update, you can try again by clicking on the ‘Apply configurations’ button again.
Method 2: Selecting a Preset
This method allows you to use pre-saved presets to edit the configurations. To use this method, follow the steps below.
- Enter the ‘Edit configuration’ mode.
- Click on the ‘Select preset’ button.
- Choose the desired preset and click on the ‘Select’ button.
- Make further changes, if needed.
- Click on the ‘Review’ button.
- If you are OK with the changes, you can click on the ‘Apply configurations’ button.
- The app will show the status of each parameter.
- If a parameter failed to update, you can try again by clicking on the ‘Apply configurations’ button again.
Method 3: Uploading a File
With this method, you can upload a configuration file saved locally on your PC to update the configurations. You can create a configuration file either by exporting the existing configurations or by editing using the Configuration Template [Hyperlinked] with an editor. To use this method, follow the steps below.
- Enter the ‘Edit configuration’ mode.
- Click on the ‘Upload file’ button.
- Choose the desired file and click on the ‘Select’ button.
- Once the file is uploaded, click ‘Next’.
- Make further changes, if needed.
- Click on the ‘Review’ button.
- If you are OK with the changes, you can click on the ‘Apply configurations’ button.
- The app will show the status of each parameter.
- If a parameter failed to update, you can try again by clicking on the ‘Apply configurations’ button again.
