Configuration Presets

A preset is a set of fixed values assigned to different configuration parameters. Battery Buddy allows a user to use presets to change configurations faster. With presets, an individual or team can maintain a standard and avoid errors while editing configurations.

To help users with common use cases, Battery Buddy comes with a set of default presets. However, a user with authorized credentials can also create presets or save existing configurations as a preset for later use.

Save Existing Configuration as Preset

To save an existing configuration of a device as a preset, follow the steps below.

  1. Go to the ‘Configurations’ page.
  2. Fetch the latest values by clicking on the ‘Fetch’ button.
  3. Click on the three-dot menu button and select ‘Save as preset’
  4. If you are not logged in already, Battery Buddy will prompt you to log in.
  5. Enter a name for your preset and click ‘Save'.

Create a Preset

To create a preset from scratch, follow the steps below.

  1. Go to the ‘Configurations’ page.
  2. Fetch the latest values by clicking on the ‘Fetch’ button.
  3. Click on the three-dot menu button and select ‘View preset list’.
  4. Click on ‘+’ button.
  5. If you are not logged in already, Battery Buddy will prompt you to log in.
  6. Enter the values of the desired parameters or upload a file.
  7. Click on ‘Create preset’.

View Preset

To view presets, follow the steps below.

  1. Go to the ‘Configurations’ page.
  2. Click on the three-dot menu button and select ‘View preset list’.
  3. To view a desired preset, click on the three-dot menu beside it.
  4. Click on the ‘View preset’ option.

Note: You have to log in to view presets created by you.

Edit Presets

Battery Buddy allows you to edit the presets created by you. To edit a preset, follow the steps below.

  1. Go to the ‘Configurations’ page.
  2. Click on the three-dot menu button and select ‘View preset list’.
  3. To edit a desired preset, click on the three-dot menu beside it.
  4. Click on the ‘Edit preset’ option.
  5. Make desired changes and click ‘Save’.

Export or Delete a Preset

  1. Go to the ‘Configurations’ page.
  2. Click on the three-dot menu button and select ‘View preset list’.
  3. To delete/export a desired preset, click on the three-dot menu beside it.
  4. Click on the ‘Export’ or ‘Delete’ option as desired.
  5. In case of ‘Delete’, the app will ask for confirmation.
